
Vicki Toler, has been a resident in the Sarasota/Bradenton area since 1986. Having been Manager of Customer Service at Tropicana for 14 years, she took early retirement to spend time with her husband, who was diagnosed with lung cancer. Upon his death, four years later, she began her “second” career as a Mortgage Broker.
Through her experiences she has learned many age challenging facts, as she is sure many of you have learned over the years and it is her belief that we should all be sharing in this knowledge to pave an easier way to meet the challenges that come with aging in these times.
Vicki is a designated Certified Mortgage Specialist, a Certified Senior Advisor, and a Customer Service Manager she insures that everyone is treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve and provides them with an education to assist them in making educated decisions.
Vicki has been a featured guest speakers in various communities along the west coast of Florida, and has done seminars at the University of South Florida, Senior Friendship Center. She looks forward to meeting and learning from each and every participant.
Michael Juceam opened the Sarasota office of Right at Home, a national franchise providing in home care and assistance primarily to members of our senior community, in June 2004. As the owner Michael takes personal responsibility for ensuring that Right at Home clients receive the best possible companion and personal care services. Michael is always present, making sure that each of our seniors is receiving the help they need to enjoy the highest quality of life while maintaining their independence. Michael is an energetic participant in community activities aimed at improving the quality of life for members of our senior population and is currently serving as President and member of the Board of Directors of the Sarasota County Aging Network (SCAN) and paste President and member of the Board of Directors of the Manatee Aging Network (MAN) as well as a past President of the Community Resource Council of Manatee County, and is a member of the Leadership Council of the SunCoast Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Michael also serves on committees supporting the activities of the Senior Friendship Center and Lutheran Services, Subcommittee Chairperson for Walker Recruitment for Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walks and serves on the Board of the Florida Chapter of the National Private Duty Association.
Prior to opening his Right at Home office, Michael spent more than 20 years in senior management positions in the software and consulting services industries. He spent eight years as Founder, President and CEO of JEMTECH Solutions, a professional services document technologies firm and previously served as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of On-Line Software International, Inc., a NYSE system software company. Michael began his career practicing corporate and securities law in New York City. Michael is a graduate of Brown University in R.I., and received his law degree from Rutgers University Camden in N.J. Joining Michael for his presentation is :
Pam Polowski joined the Alzheimer’s Association/FGCC in 2006 as a program specialist covering Sarasota County. She has held several positions in the medical field, including Dialysis at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Practice Coordinator at an oral and maxillofacial surgery center, and Marketing Director at an ALF.
In her role as a program specialist, Pam feels fortunate to be able to assist families on their journey to understand and appreciate their loved ones for who they are now. “I have the best job on the planet. In honoring my families, I’m paying it forward for my Mom”.
The Alzheimer’s Association – Florida Gulf Coast Chapter provides support systems to people living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder and their caregivers through patient & family services, education, advocacy and research.
The Chapter provides services through 9 regional offices and the nation’s only Alzheimer’s mobile office – the Memory Mobile to a 17 County region including Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota and Sumter. There are an estimated 172,000 people living with Alzheimer’s disease residing in the Chapter’s service region.
Mary King, MBA,JD Attorney and Counselor at Law
Mary’s career as an attorney began in 1993 after graduating from Stetson University College of Law. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Wake Forest University, Babcock Graduate School of Management in 1990. Her career in law has primarily focused in estate planning, probate and IRS tax representation as well as commercial and personal injury trial law.
Mary is a member of the Florida Bar and licensed to practice in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, the American Business Women’s Association – Sunset Chapter, and the Palm Aire Women’s Club. As a native Floridian, she grew up in St. Petersburg, and has lived in Sarasota since 1999 with her husband Steve and their black Labrador Retrievers, Proxy and Canon.

David Flench, MBA, ACSM HFS
David Flench became the General Manager of the SMH Healthplex in April of 2008, where he develops and implements the strategic plans for the facility and oversees all programs and services. Previously, he was the Director of the Wellness Center at Mariners Hospital in the Florida Keys, where he coordinated all programs including weight management, health and fitness testing , masssage therapy, nutritional services, group exercise, personal training, smoking cessation, as well as programs for diabetes clinical assessments and corresponding group education. Prior to his time at Mariners, David worked in Columbus, Ohio as the Fitness Manager at the McConnell Hearth Health Center and as a member of the adjunct sports management faculty at Columbus State College. Earlier in his career, he worked as an exercise physiologist and physical therapy technician. David is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science and he has his M.B.A. from Franklin University. He is a certified as a Health Fitness Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine and is a member of the American College of Healthy Care Executives.
Frances Lane has worked in the health care industry for over 30 years. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University, College of Dental Hygiene. Her career has covered many areas including dental hygiene, pharmaceutical sales, and is currently is a life and health insurance agent with First Benefits Group.
She has been a licensed insurance agent for over 10 years and her focus is on insurance planning. Her goal is to teach the client the basics of insurance products and then focus on the products that best fit their needs. As people live longer, they will continue to use more health services and need to have a plan as to how to pay for these services. There are many options available but each choice needs to be carefully planned.
It is rewarding when clients thank her for helping them not only with their insurance needs, but how to manage other issues related to planning. With her knowledge and referral system, she can guide the client to the best professional to address their unique needs.
Fran maintains as active role in both the insurance industry and dental hygiene. She is a member of the National Association of Health Insurance Underwriters, the American Dental Hygiene Association, and was recently a board member for the Manatee Community College School of Dental Hygiene. Fran has also published insurance articles and is a member of “Who’s Who”.
Mark A Chmielewski, Owner and President of Alternative Healthcare Services, Inc., Sarasota, Florida, since 1991. Mr Chmielewski is a provider of Guardianships, Case Managment and Fiduciary services, Judicial Incapacitation Evaluations, Advance Directive oversight, Representative Payee services and selective interim Nursing Home Administrator positions.
Mr. Chmielewski attended Paul Smith’s College, Lake Placid, N Y and graduated with honors from S.U.N.Y. Utica, NY. Mr Chmielewski is a Registered Professional Guardian, 12th Judicial Circuit Court and has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 1986
Mr. Chmielewski is an active Member of the Florida State Guardianship Association, hiving served as Treasurer of the local chapter. He holds memberships in the National Guaardianship Association, Florida HeathCare association, the Sarasota County area Network and the Gulf Coast Guardianship Association.
Mr. Chmielewski has served as a volunteer for the Bioethics committee, Pines of Sarasota, Sarasota, Florida and for Adaptive Golf for Geriatrics. He is a member of the Elks-B.P.O.E. 1519
